SAVE TIME AND MONEY WITH E-MEALZ MEAL PLANS

Like Taking Cookies from a Baby

I was listening to Clark Howard today, (just for the first hour… then I turned to Dave Ramsey… I am not a traitor), and he mentioned that New York City schools are, are you ready for this, BANNING bake sales from schools as fundraisers because they want to limit how much sugar and fat students put in their bellies at school. I think it is the lawmakers who need to cut the fat. Too bad they don’t make Fastin to reduce big government! Of course, I am not a fan of bake sales anyway… I hate baking… and fundraisers. But that is a post for another day.

Add to that, Los Angeles last year banned fast food restaurants from their city. According to Clark, “Now The Los Angeles Times reports there are new proposed rules that would ban convenience stores in areas of the city that cover 500,000 residents!” Yet a Rand Corporation study shows that the ban is not likely to do anything to decrease obesity.

See the thing is, in tough economic times, junk food is cheaper than healthier choices. Also, if you are low income and trying to make ends meet by working a lot, it is difficult to take the time to cook a healthy meal than to grab a burger to go. Of course, better choices could be made.

As I was listening to Neal Boortz today, a man called who works at a grocery store frequented by food stamp people. They buy junk food with their food stamp money, and many of these people are overweight.

See folks, it is about choice. Kind of funny how all these pro-choice government types want to put their laws on my body, except when it comes to reproduction.
