Colonial Parkway Murders
Here is a comment from Bill Thomas, brother of Cathleen Thomas who was murdered on October 12, 2986:
After more than 20 years, the FBI moved forward in January 2010 with advanced forensic and DNA testing on 80 pieces of evidence from the 1986 murder of Cathleen Thomas and Rebecca Dowski, and 50 pieces of evidence from the 1988 disappearance of Keith Call and Cassandra Hailey. That is the good news. The bad news is that it will take 6-9 months for testing results.
The other two cases in the Colonial Parkway Murders, that of David Knobling and Robin Edwards, killed at the Ragged Island Wildlife Refuge and Annamaria Helps and David Lauer who were murdered near a rest stop on I-64 in New Kent County, Virginia, are being handled by the Virginia State Police.

I think that is great news that maybe, just maybe, there will be a break in the case!
Murder of David Lee Metzler and Heidi Lynn Childs
In December the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that they were interested in finding the owner of a light colored minivan seen in the area of Caldwell Fields on the same evening of the murder. More information can be found at http://www.vt.edu/childs-metzler/.
In somewhat unrelated news, Heidi’s father, Don, has been nominated as an AMW Allstar for his being shot at while trying to capture a man accused of a man who killed 8 people in Appomattox County in January.
Morgan Harrington
On January 26, Morgan’s partially decomposed body was found in a remote farm in Albemarle County, VA (the county where Charlottesville is located). The farm is rather large and the location of Morgan’s body was in a place that is known by few people. Police are looking for someone who knows the area as a possible suspect.
Morgan was honored by the General Assembly in Virginia. The Take Back the Night Rally on March 25 in Blacksburg will be held in her memory.
